This target is used for Free Pistol over 50 meters, Standard Pistol over 25 meters and the precision (or slow fire) stages of Centre Fire and Womens / Junior Sport Pistol.
| The target (pictured on right) is approx 50cm by 50cm. The white area from 1 to 6 points and the black area scores 7 to 10 points. The target is pictured with a floppy disk to help get an idea of size. | ![]() |
| The "10" ring is 50mm diameter. The 10 ring does not have numbers indicating is value on the target and the inner circle, often called the 'X' ring, also scores 10 points in value. The score for the shots on this target is 48 out of a possible 50 (3 tens, 2 nines). Each scoring zone from the 10 ring increases in radius by 25 mm each time. | ![]() |
| When a shot is close to one of the scoring lines, a metal plug called a 'guage' is placed in the hole to help indicate if the shot touched the scoring line or not. If the guage touches any part of the line, the shot is awarded the value of the higher scoring area, in this case, a 10.(Note, it only needs to touch the line, it does not have to 'break' it) These guages are manufactured to set dimentions depending on the event being contested and the calibre of the gun used. (Picture is of .32 calibre. ie. 32/100ths of an inch in diameter) | ![]() |
