Open for Windows Installation

To install Open for Windows, please follow the steps outlined below.

After downloading the 5 files required for the OpenW program, run each of the 5 'self extracting' files to install the setup program onto your PC. These files should be located in a folder called C:\OPENW\SETUP

Using Windows Explorer, locate the C:\OPENW\SETUP folder.

Double Click the SETUP.EXE file to run the setup program.

Accept the default options for the program by pressing [Enter] at the prompts.

When the Setup has finished, it may restart the Windows session. This will allow for some settings made during the installation to be recognised by Windows.

To run the OpenW program:
Win 3.1:
double click on the OpenW icon in the Open for Windows group

Win 95 / 98:
select Start, Programs, Open for Windows, Open for Windows

OpenW program can not be started using Windows Explorer, it can only be run using the Shortcut that is installed during the program setup. (See the Technical Information in the User Manual for the full command line for the shortcut.)

You may like to copy the shortcut to your desktop, this may make running OpenW easier.
